Lucy Chen, M.D., is dual trained in Reproductive Endocrinologist and Infertility and Medical Genetics. Dr. Chen’s unique background allows her to provide more comprehensive care and counseling for patients, especially for those with a family history of genetic disorders or prior pregnancies affected by a genetic condition. Dr.Chen provides comprehensive care for various reproductive conditions, such as endometriosis, PCOS, fertility preservation and more, in addition to offering advanced genetic testing and counseling. As one of the few double fellowship trained REI/Medical Geneticists, Dr. Chen’s unique background allows her to provide more comprehensive care and counseling for patients, especially for those with a family history of genetic disorders or prior pregnancies affected by a genetic condition.
Dr. Chen completed her undergraduate degree in Neurobiology from the University of Texas at Austin and received her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX. She then completed her residency in OB/GYN at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
Driven by her fascination with reproductive sciences and genetics, Dr. Chen pursued a fellowship in REI combined with medical genetics and genomics at the renowned Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Her specialized training in this unique field sets her apart as one of only a few fellowship-trained REI geneticists in the United States.
She is deeply involved in research, particularly in endometriosis and the genetic basis of premature ovarian insufficiency and other reproductive disorders. Her dedication to advancing knowledge in these fields has earned her numerous research grants, and her work has been published in prestigious peer-reviewed journals.
Outside of her medical practice, Dr. Chen, a native of Texas, enjoys exploring Florida’s attractions and natural beauty with her husband and two young children. She believes in maintaining a healthy work-life balance and cherishes the time spent with her family.
