For Winter Garden’s Ken and Sac, having children and raising a family together was a dream of theirs almost since the day they met. However, due to a rare condition with Sac’s eggs, the chance of them conceiving was almost impossible.

Almost.

After a failed in vitro fertilization treatment procedure (IVF) with another practice, Ken and Sac were told that they would never be able to have children. In the midst of sadness and despair, they decided to get a second opinion, and turned to Mark P. Trolice, M.D., board certified reproductive endocrinology and infertility specialist and founder of The IVF CenterSM.

Sac recalls, “When I was told that I probably wasn’t going to have children, I was completely despondent and sad. I didn’t want to go through the whole process again; but, my husband urged me on and we didn’t wait. We started again two weeks later with Dr. Trolice, and I’m so glad we did.”

Dr. Trolice’s IVF treatment reputation and success rates were key factors in Ken and Sac’s decision. “One of the reasons we chose Dr. Trolice is because we looked at his success rating for IVF treatment with intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and my wife’s age group; and there was no one better in Florida,” says Ken. “And luckily he was right here in our backyard.”

“We loved Dr. Trolice, from the minute we first came in,” Ken says. “Throughout the whole process he embodied the perfect combination of warmth and strength: very confident in what he’s doing, and strong recommendations for how to do it. That’s what gets him the best results, and we really appreciated that.”

The couple felt at home at The IVF CenterSM and were delighted by the personalized attention they received. “One of the things that set The IVF CenterSM apart from the other IVF centers is the relationship they give you from the beginning,” Sac says. “You feel like you’re an important part of the family. If I ever had a question, I could call and they would answer me right away, and if I did have to leave a message, they would call me back within minutes.”

Ken agrees: “The staff at The IVF CenterSM were awesome. From the time we got there, it was always very personalized and caring; we felt like we were part of the family. Other places we went had six or seven doctors, so every time we went in, we saw a different doctor; and it was as if they were reading our case file for the first time. When we came to The IVF CenterSM, they greeted us at the door by our first names; there was just this level of comfort, that we were in this together with them.”

Ken and Sac were impressed by the resourcefulness and tenacity of Dr. Trolice and his staff.

“One of the challenges we faced is that my wife didn’t have a shell around her eggs,” Ken remembers. “Rather than tell us that they’d never seen that before, or that we’d never have kids, Dr. Trolice and his team did the research. They found out where else in the world they had treated this specific situation with IVF; and after doing so, they performed it on us and had a successful result. We really loved how they went the extra mile to figure out a way to solve our particular challenge.”

“They gave us an answer,” Sac concurs.

With a successful IVF treatment procedure, and the birth of their twins, Ken and Sac are grateful for their new family.

“Dr. Trolice literally changed our life, maybe saved our life,” Ken says. “From the moment we walked in, he put his arm around us, and said: ‘I can’t promise anything, but if it’s possible, I’m going to help you make it happen.’ It was a weight off of our shoulders. We put our trust in him, and it worked out. We now have two beautiful children because we came to see Dr. Trolice and his team.”
