Ep. 3 of 4: Love & Hope: An IVF Documentary

Original Air Date Wednesday, November 9, 2016

Piper and Mo have been there before.

After more than eight years of disappointment and frustration from failed fertility treatments elsewhere, the couple put their faith in Mark P. Trolice, M.D., director of The IVF CenterSM, and his dedicated staff.

This time around everything seemed to be going smoothly: Piper’s bloodwork was good, her hormones were right where they needed to be, and her eggs and Mohamed’s sperm had created embryos, which were now ready to be placed into Piper’s uterus. The couple was cautiously optimistic.

And then – a setback. Once implanted into the uterus, the embryo didn’t fuse properly with the lining of the uterus, and failed to grow.

Dr. Trolice, however, was not throwing in the towel just yet.

In part 3 of this series, Mo and Piper persist on their IVF journey, and despite grave disappointment, place even more faith in the knowledge and expertise of Dr. Trolice and his team. The couple provides an eye witness look into their lives, as they hold onto the hope of conception, all the while grappling with the possibility that it may never happen.

For Piper and Mo, their bond with Dr. Trolice is like a lifeboat in a stormy sea: “I have so much confidence in Dr. Trolice,” Mo says. “I feel like he’s more than a doctor to me, I feel like he’s a very good friend.”

In this episode we cover:

  • Challenges and hurdles that couples face during the IVF process and what can be done to overcome them
  • Dr. Trolice’s detailed description, explanation and analysis of the two-step IVF process, and how it might help young couples reach the goal of pregnancy
  • What first brought Mo and Piper together as a couple, and what is sustaining and strengthening the bond between them
  • Live footage as Piper prepares for her egg removal surgery

Ep. 4 of 4: Love & Hope: An IVF Documentary

Original Air Date Wednesday, November 16, 2016

Piper and Mohamed can almost see the finish line.

After almost nine years of struggle with infertility and failed in vitro fertilization (IVF) attempts, they are closer than ever to conceiving. There’s just one last hurdle to overcome.

In part 4 of this series, watch how Mark P. Trolice, M.D., director of The IVF CenterSM, uses the two-step IVF procedure to give Mo and Piper the best chance they’ve ever had for having a baby.

Join the couple up close as they share their innermost thoughts and feelings about family, infertility and society. Why don’t they simply adopt?, they are often asked. The answers lie in this final heartwarming and intimate episode, which has followed Mo and Piper every step of the way during their three month quest to have a baby of their own.

“IVF is never guaranteed,” says Dr. Trolice. “Piper and Mo agreed to do this regardless of the outcome, as did the clinic. IVF is the most exciting technology available today to help couples build their family. We were honored to be able to share their story with you.”

In this episode we cover:

  • Why in many states, IVF treatment may be less costly, and often provide quicker results, than adoption
  • Live footage from Piper’s preparation for her final surgical attempt at embryo implantation
  • Dr. Trolice’s expert advice for the best IVF embryo transfer results
  • If Mo and Piper will get that fateful call from Dr. Trolice, that will change their lives forever
