Piper and Mo have been there before.
After more than eight years of disappointment and frustration from failed fertility treatments elsewhere, the couple put their faith in Mark P. Trolice, M.D., director of The IVF CenterSM, and his dedicated staff.
This time around everything seemed to be going smoothly: Piper’s bloodwork was good, her hormones were right where they needed to be, and her eggs and Mohamed’s sperm had created embryos, which were now ready to be placed into Piper’s uterus. The couple was cautiously optimistic.
And then – a setback. Once implanted into the uterus, the embryo didn’t fuse properly with the lining of the uterus, and failed to grow.
Dr. Trolice, however, was not throwing in the towel just yet.
In part 3 of this series, Mo and Piper persist on their IVF journey, and despite grave disappointment, place even more faith in the knowledge and expertise of Dr. Trolice and his team. The couple provides an eye witness look into their lives, as they hold onto the hope of conception, all the while grappling with the possibility that it may never happen.
