As part of our journey in chronicling what happens as our Medical Assistant Christina becomes a surrogate for a couple in great need. While there is a bit of a lull in the beginning stages of Christina’s journey, we thought it would be a good idea to have a chat with a Reproductive Health Attorney to get a different perspective on this process. Eileen Coe from the Frank Family Law Practice joined Dr. Trolice to talk about the legal aspects of surrogacy.
There are many reasons why the surrogacy process can get delayed. In Christina’s case, there were some vaccines that she needed before she was able to proceed. As Eileen explains, this is why it is so critical to get your contract in place first before starting this process … even if you’re doing this “between friends.”
